Again… I nearly didn’t make it to the spot I wanted to photograph today. Again… I very nearly said that it wasn’t important and there were other things that needed to be done. But, as you can see – I didn’t let that happen, and I’m so much happier because of it! (Even if I’m using a laptop which is awful and I’ve been swearing at it for the last hour – still no computer)

I’ve been inspired by the photographs of a ‘friend’ (maybe more of an acquaintance, if that) to take a step back and try and compose a whole scene, but whilst I failed dismally at that today, I have at least posted my first ever portrait orientation photo at the bottom of this series… yes, I know full well how sad it is that I’m aware of it, but the first step is admitting you have a problem, right?!

I have tried so hard to get out and take photos lately, but things keep happening. Stuff needs to get done. Even the best plans can be so easily messed up. Really, life gets in the way. And it irritates me. I’m a person who loves structure (have you noticed?!) – and the lack of it means I’m not getting out and photographing the things I want to – guess I’ll have to do something about that, right?!

My computer is away being repaired at the moment – hence the lack of ‘extras’. So – I’ve got a couple of ‘newbies’ to share (stupid name – no idea what else to call them). I’m determined not to photograph the same place twice, and not cross over locations between devices… it’s fun trying to remember them all. Lately I’ve been absolutely disgusted at the amount of cool places I’ve discovered near my place… where the hell were they when I needed them last year?! Oh, wait. They were there, alright. I just couldn’t see them.

I’ve got a massive obsession with shadows lately – I’m not sure if it’s just because it is the right time of year, or if my eye is tuned in to them at the moment… either which way, there’s certainly plenty of interesting ones to be found.

Whether it’s my real camera or my phone (yep, not ashamed of that!) I’ve been loving finding them – and my poor husband thought he was all done with me squeaking in excitement about something and having to pull over so I could run back and photograph it!

4:47pm, Coorparoo: Day 90 ~ Green vs green – not often I find one of these… particularly with such different shades! I love how the little gold lock glows, and contrasts so strongly against the green wall. This day was a great one… a fabulous photo drive in amazing photo weather (until it rained!) – I was in search of purple and orange, and found green instead. Not to worry – I’m not picky!

5:33m, Virginia: Day 75 ~ I tried to take a photograph of this so. many. times. but the place it is right next to was always open, and I was scared of getting in trouble (heard that story before?!). People don’t tend to like you photographing their house… and to be honest, I wouldn’t want someone taking a photo of my house, either! It was a funny day to choose my final photo for my blog, since I had worked so hard for this one but didn’t pick it!
